Fresh air at the office
Have you ever walked into a boardroom after an intense scrum or lively brainstorm? The stuffy, sweaty air created by situations like these is not exactly conducive to a pleasant office environment.
The smell of printer ink can be bothersome as well, and on the days after the cleaners sweep through the office, the scent of cleaning products can be a little overwhelming. According to the study plants can help make sure the office smells fresh all day long.
The air in most offices is contaminated by VOC’s, or volatile organic compounds. These are airborne toxins you can’t see, but you can definitely smell them, and they’re pretty bad for your health. The study showed that in test locations with plants, the air was a lot less stuffy. Besides, the positive influence of plants on these VOC´s has been proven in a lab environment. And because plants do influence the indoor temperature those boardrooms will definitely lose some of that musty air with a few green eyecatchers.
